De procedure voor de benoeming van een nieuwe decaan op de FGw doet volgens ons niet genoeg recht aan de roep op democratie, transparantie en betrokkenheid van de facultaire gemeenschap die we het afgelopen anderhalf jaar duidelijk hebben laten horen. Op dit moment zal er enkel een presentatie komen van de decaan, na benoeming. Dit doet op geen enkele manier recht aan datgene waar wij voor staan.
In de mail die door de benoemingsadviescommissie naar alle docenten en studenten is gestuurd staat dat tijdens het facultair beraad ook de procedure besproken zal worden. Dit is de laatste kans om als facultaire gemeenschap te laten horen dat we het anders willen. Daarom roepen wij jullie op allemaal te mailen naar fsr-fgw@uva.nl (een voorbeeldmail kun je vinden via onderstaande link).
Daarnaast zou het ontzettend goed zijn als jullie ook op maandag 7 maart om 16:00 naar het Facultair Beraad komen om daar je mening te laten horen. Dit zal plaatsvinden op de Oudemanhuispoort zaal A008.
The procedure concerning the selection of the new dean at the humanities faculty does no justice to the call for democracy, transparency and involvement of the faculty community that we’ve heard in the last year and a half. The procedure only contains a presentation of the dean after he or she has been appointed. This does no justice in any way to what we stand for.
In the e-mail send by the selection committee to all students and staff mentions the procedure will also be discussed during the Facultair Beraad. This is our last chance to tell them we want to change the procedure. Therefore, we call upon you to e-mail fsr-fgw@uva.nl (you can find a concept e-mail in the link below).
Besides that, it would be much appreciated if you could attend the Facultair Beraad at March 7th to voice your opinion. This will take place at the Oudemanhuispoort room A008.
